One commercial record.
Every item cited to source.
The Commercial Reasoning Ledger holds what the contract requires, what would prove it, and what your team decided, with the clause and page attached to every material item.

A complete view of each obligation.
What is required, where it came from, what would prove it and where a reviewer left it. One item, one screen.
The obligation extracted from the clause, with the context that qualifies it.
The document, section, page, sheet and revision that created it.
Acceptance criteria and the evidence that would satisfy them.
One item. One history. Every step traceable back to source.
From the clause that created it to the review that closed it, each step keeps the citation that came before.

You should never have to ask,
“where did this come from?”
Every material item keeps its clause, document, section, page, sheet and revision, and records whether the wording is quoted, normalised or inferred.
Linked to the exact document, section, page and sheet.
Surrounding text and related sections, marked where they are not a duty.
Review status, compliance assessment and what changed.
If for any reason the Contractor deems that additional compensation is due for work or materials not clearly provided for in the Contract Documents, not previously authorized, or for any other reason whatsoever,
the Contractor shall notify the Engineer in writing of his/her intention to claim such additional compensation within ten (10) calendar days after either occurrence of the event giving rise to such claim or within ten (10) calendar days after the Contractor first recognizes the condition giving rise to such claim, whichever comes first,
… If such notification is not given … the Contractor hereby agrees to waive any claim for such additional compensation and also any claim for additional time resulting therefrom.
The record survives the job.
You make a perfectly reasonable decision today. Six months later nobody remembers why, and someone has to reconstruct the reasoning. That is reasoning debt. People change, systems change and project files scatter, so the ledger keeps the clause, the evidence and the review attached from bid to closeout.
